In this video, we look at how to stretch your hip flexors in what is known as a "couch stretch".
It is important to stretch your hip flexors after sitting down for a prolonged period of time, such as at work, driving a long distance or even just sitting down at home relaxing. The reason this is important is because if you begin to develop tightness in your hip flexors, it can lead to an anterior tilt in your pelvis.
This then causes increased lumbar lordosis which can lead to lower back pain. Give this a try next time you have been seated for a prolonged period of time and let us know if it helps.
